Most coaches offer potential new clients a free session so they can get a feel for Life Coaching and decide if it’s right for them, before committing to a full programme.

The free session also enables the client and the coach to decide if they can strike up a mutual rapport in which the two parties feel they can work together effectively and enjoyably. Also any questions or misgivings the client might have can be addressed.

My experience shows, however, that one session is usually not enough for the coach to demonstrate the true value of the coaching process, or for the potential client to unwind and open up sufficiently for any meaningful work to get underway.
