Some typical coaching issues

Some years ago I realised that sooner or later we have to step outside the psychotherapists consulting room, or the school, college, university, our parents home or whatever, to stand alone and do something, if only for the simple reason we cannot be dependent for ever and expect to have fulfilling lives.

Then I discovered Life Coaching and I realised that, though each of us has to live his own life, it is possible to have expert support and guidance. A Life Coach doesn’t live your life for you, but can provide much of the support you need to transform your life. And coaching is so simple. That’s why it’s so powerful.

For many people this moment of aloneness is crunch time because either they do not know what to do, or they start off on the wrong footing in the wrong direction, or most importantly they do not believe in themselves. Only a very switched-on few get it right first time despite their natural doubts and fears.

Typical issues clients bring to Coaching include:
• This is what I want to achieve. How do I go about it?
• What can I do to make my life better?
• How do I find my path?
• I want help with a mid-life career change
• I dream of doing so-and-so. Can you show me how to make it a reality?
• How can I improve my self-esteem?
• I want a lot more money in my life
• I don’t believe I have what it takes. How do I become an achiever?
• Inner conflict is ruining my life. What can I do?
• I want job satisfaction
• I’m sick and tired of not having enough
• I want a relationship
• How can my partner and I come closer?
• My boss is taking me for a ride. How can I stop him and earn his respect?
• I hate my job but I’m not qualified for anything else. What can I do?
• My life is kind of OK, but I want it to be excellent
• I’m drifting, I have no direction. I want a sense of purpose
• I want to find out what I was put on this planet to do, and to start doing it!
• I need help to get over my addiction
• My sex life is rubbish
• My love life is non-existent
• How will I ever get over my wife/ husband leaving me?
• How will I ever get over my bereavement?
• Children or career – how do I choose?
• Can you help me pick up the pieces and start a new life?

As you can see, Life Coaching often has to address profound issues and is much more than just sorting out your life on a superficial level. In fact Coaching can be taken to any level, as appropriate.
